If you are planning a vacation to Yosemite National Park, there are many options when it comes to hotels and cabins. Some hotels are are inside the park. But for many travelers, there are a lot more hotel, cabin and lodge options outside the park. There are four gates into Yosemite National Park. And there are accomodations and cabins near all of them.

Yosemite Inns, Cabins and Lodges by South Entrance
The South Entrance is reached via Highway 41. This is one of the more popular entrances for those on a vacation to Yosemite because it comes from southern California. Highway 41 comes up from Fresno and passes through Bass Lake, Oak Hurst and Fish Camp before it gets to the park. In Oakhurst you can find the Haven of Rest Bed & Breakfast, Days Inn, and Pine Rose Inn. Fish Camp is only about 2 miles from the south entrance. There you'll find one of the larger places to stay, Tenaya Lodge. Tenaya Lodge has 244 rooms and suites. Tenaya Lodge, though outside the park, is also operated by Delaware North, which also runs the lodgings in Yosemite National Park. Tenaya Lodge is also a good setting for a wedding. The former Apple Tree Inn is also now part of Tenaya Lodge and provides 50 cottage rooms. Also in Fish Camp you'll find places such as Big Creek Inn Bed & Breakfast and Narrow Gauge Inn. Big Creek Inn Bed & Breakfast and Narrow Gauge Inn offer various types of accomodations. There are also a number of single cabin units nearby. These offer an experience you are unlikely to find in a larger hotel.
Yosemite Lodges by Big Oak Flat Entrance
the Big Oak Flat Entrance is reached via highway 120 on the west. Most people coming from San Francisco or the north enter the park via the Big Oak Flat Entrance. Just eight miles from the entrance, you will find the Evergreen Lodge. The 15-acre Evergreen Lodge property is dotted with cabins and some campsites. Sunset Inn is just 2 miles from the entrance to Yosemite National Park. Sunset Inn isn't as large as Evergreen Lodge but it's three cabins come equipped with kitchens. There are many other lodging choices along highway 120 as you approach the park including Hotel Charlotte and the historic Groveland Hotel, both in Groveland.

Yosemite Cabins and Inns by Arch Rock/El Portal Entrance
The Arch Rock/El Portal Entrance is reached via highway 140. This is the entrance most people use if they are coming Merced and Mariposa. It is the closest entrance to Yosemite Valley, only about six miles. Some of the lodges and places to stay along this route include the Bear Creek Cabins about 19 miles from the entrance and Highland House Inn, about 36 miles from the park entrance. There are many other lodging options available between Merced and Mariposa and the entrance to the park.
Yosemite Lodges and Motels by Tioga Pass Entrance
The Tioga Pass Entrance is reached via highway 120 on the east. The Tioga Pass Entrance isn't open in the winter. So if you are planning a Yosemite ski trip, you need to use a different way in. It goes into the high Country of the park that it closed by snow starting in the fall. People coming from the east, like Reno or Las Vegas would use this entrance. Many people coming from the south, who want to take a trip through the high Sierra will also take the route to this entrance. The closest town is Lee Vining. There you can find Lake View Lodge, Yosemite Gateway Motel and Murphy's Motel.
